[News] SNSD’s unit Taetiseo ranks first on May chart

SNSD’s unit group Taetiseo recently ranked 1st on May chart with their song “Twinkle.”

On June 1, according to music site Melon, Taetiseo’s “Twinkle” ranked 1st on May chart. The song is a title song from the mini album, which was released on April 30 by Taetiseo, composed of Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun.

Among girl groups, SISTAR’s “Alone” ranked 2nd, 4minute’s “Volume Up” ranked 7th, Girl’s Day’s “Oh! My God” ranked 31st, and A pink’s “Hush” ranked 33rd. Among boy groups, Big Bang’s “Fantastic Baby” ranked 15th and Noel’s “Leaving” ranked 18th.

Busker Busker is also drawing a lot of attention by ranking 3rd on the chart with their song “Cherry Blossom Ending.” The song has ranked 1st on April chart and other songs from their album entered the Top 50 in May. “First Love” ranked 9th, “Yeosu Night Sea” ranked 13th, “The Flower” ranked 17th, “Loneliness Amplifier” ranked 25th, “Ideal Type” ranked 26th, and “Calling You” ranked 34th.

[News] Girls’ Generation exceeds 400,000 copies in album sales with ‘The Boys’

Girls’ Generation‘s third studio album, ‘The Boys‘, has passed 400,000 copies in sales!

According to the Gaon Chart, ‘The Boys’ topped its year-end chart at 385,348 copies despite having been released in the second half of the year on October 19th. Since then, they’ve recorded 25,194 additional copies in sales up to April, bringing their grand total to 410,542 copies.

Since Gaon began tracking album sales in 2010, Girls’ Generation is currently the first and only artist to hit the 400,000 mark without having to include repackaged album sales after 2010, which is when Gaon first started to keep track of such records.

Girls’ Generation’s albums across the board are seeing the same additions in sales. ‘Oh!‘ jumped from 197,934 copies to 218,522 copies in a year, ‘Run Devil Run‘ sold 168,998 total copies, and ‘Hoot‘ recorded 180,825 copies up to last year.

As for their latest unit group, Taetiseo, “Twinkle” has hit 604,870 downloads, making them the most downloaded artist on Gaon for the week of May 2nd.

[News] Girls’ Generation – TTS twinkle their way to 1st win on M!Countdown

After winning the ‘Champion Song’ trophy on MBC ‘Show! Music Champion’ on May 8th, Girls’ Generation – TTS continued their winning streak on music programs by grabbing their first win on Mnet’s ‘M!Countdown’ aired on May 10th.

Sporting leopard-print costumes, Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun wowed fans with ‘Twinkle’, flaunting their impressive vocal and captivating dance moves. Within just a week after their debut performance as Girls’ Generation – TTS on ‘M!Countdown’, the girls showed their domination by taking the no.1 spot this week.
However, the girls were not at CJ E&M Center in Mapo-gu, Seoul to receive the award as they had departed for Yeosu after the pre-recording of ‘M!Countdown’ to participate in the recording of KBS 2TV’s ‘Open Concert’.
The victory celebration could also be witnessed on Twitter as ’120510 Mnet MCD TaeTiSeo – Twinkle’ and ‘Congrats TTS’ were listed among the top 10 trending topics on Twitter worldwide.

Congratulations to Girls’ Generation – TTS and we hope that the three lovely ladies will enjoy a long winning streaks on music programs. [News] TaeTiSeo’s “Twinkle” dominated online and offline weekly charts

Girls’ Generation – TaeTiSeo’s mini album ‘Twinkle’ recorded a clean sweep on various weekly music charts.

Released on May 2nd, ‘Twinkle’ secured the no.1 spot on Hanteo Chart, Yes24 and other album sales aggregation site’s weekly charts, a proof of Girls’ Generation’s domination. [News] Taetiseo tops Japanese pre-sale charts

Girls’ Generation‘s sub-unit group Taetiseo‘s explosive popularity shows no signs of letting up.

Taetiseo’s mini album ‘Twinkle‘ has been at the #1 spot for Tower Record‘s pre-sales rankings for 3 straight days in a row, and ranked #2 on the daily chart. Also, on HMV‘s pre-sales ranking chart, Taetiseo comes in at #4, revealing Japanese fans’ immense interest in the trio. The Japanese media, such as Inno Life, are reporting, “It’s enough with even just 3 members. International fans’ interest in Girls’ Generation’s Taetiseo is huge.”

As reported previously, Taetiseo revealed ‘Twinkle’ on April 29th through various outlets such as iTunes and other music sites. In addition to achieving an all-kill on the music sites, they also topped the Japanese iTunes album chart, while ranking #4 on the U.S. and Australian iTunes album charts, and #5 on Canada’s iTunes album chart.

[News] TaeTiSeo breaking records worldwide!

Through their first mini album ‘Twinkle’, Girls’ Generation – TaeTiSeo becomes the first Korean artistes to be placed fourth on the iTunes USA Album Chart.

As soon as ‘Twinkle’ was released worldwide through iTunes at 12am KST on April 29th, it had managed to secure the fourth spot on the album chart, putting TaeTiSeo as the first Korean artistes to have recorded top 5 placing.

At the same time, this mini album has also put the girls at #2 in the iTunes Pop Album Chart behind popular British popstar Adele. This also, was the best achievement by Korean artistes in history so far. Besides this, TaeTiSeo’s ‘Twinkle’ also ranked very highly on the iTunes Album Charts in countries like Japan, Canada, Australia, England, Spain, etc.

In addition to these, Girls’ Generation TaeTiSeo’s individual teaser videos, which were released one after another on YouTube have recorded more than 10 million views in total within just 4 days. The teaser videos have already reached 10,000,000 total views and counting… The first unit TaeTiSeo has made an all-kill on music charts. The power of nine? Three was enough.

Girls’ Generation‘s first unit group, TaeTiSeo (Taeyeon, Tiffany, Seohyun), made an all kill on national charts with their mini-album ‘Twinkle‘.

What is really turning the heads of the public is the number of views on YouTube for their teaser video. Girls’ Generation, who are leaders in the K-POP boom, recorded explosive numbers with the teaser reveal of their first 3-member unit group.

Taeyeon’s teaser, which was revealed on April 25th, recorded 4,700,000 views as of April 29th. Taetiseo‘s “Twinkle“ just dropped and is proving to be popular not only within Korea, but internationally as well!

With the release of the mini album, ‘Twinkle’ by Girls’ Generation’s first subunit, the album ranked #5 on both the U.S. iTunes Album Chart and the Canadian chart.  The girls are also ranking high on iTunes album charts in many other countries.

Quite an impressive feat, especially considering that these charts ranked the popularity of albums across all genres, rather than one specific genre.

Needless to say, the ladies have already swept the Korean music charts. ‘Twinkle’ is ranked #1 on all major Korean music sites such as MelOn, Mnet, Bugs, Soribada, and Olleh Music.
