Girls’ Generation have been named the most popular female singers in the first half of this year according to a survey of 1,329 people. 26.9 percent of the votes were won by them.
Nation’s little sister IU followed with 15.3 percent. Next came International stars Wonder Girls with 7.3 percent, followed by sexy queen Lee Hyori (7.1 percent), and Baek Jiyoung (6.5 percent) with popular recent debut group Miss A (6.2 percent) bringing up the rear.
The boy band Big Bang, now busy with a world tour, garnered 18.1 percent to rank top among male singers. Singer and actor Lee Seunggi took second place with 11.3 percent, followed by 2PM (8.1 percent), Rain (6.9 percent) and 2AM (5.7 percent).
